This M35 cobalt HSS step drill bit combines a spiral flute, 118° point and TiAlN coating for progressive hole drilling in sheet materials. Choose from 4–12 mm, 4–20 mm or 4–32 mm, supplied individually as one drill bit per purchase.

Tool Compatibility

  • The 4–12 mm variant requires a three-jaw chuck capable of accepting a 6 mm shank.
  • The 4–20 mm variant requires a three-jaw chuck capable of accepting an 8 mm shank.
  • The 4–32 mm variant requires a three-jaw chuck capable of accepting a 10 mm shank.
  • Suitable for compatible handheld electric drills, cordless drills and bench drills.
  • A bench drill is recommended when machining metal workpieces between 2 mm and 5 mm thick.

Operating Guidance

  • Select the spindle speed according to the active drilling diameter and workpiece material.
  • Reduce the spindle speed progressively as the drilling diameter increases.
  • Use suitable cutting fluid when drilling metal to reduce heat and cutting-edge wear.
  • Secure the workpiece and ensure that the drill bit is firmly clamped before use.
  • Do not use this step drill bit on concrete, ceramic tiles or glass.
