Selection Guide
- Select the variant according to the required rated load: 0.64 t or 1.12 t.
- Check the shackle dimensions against the connected sling, rope or fitting before use.
- Confirm that the pin and connection points are compatible and that the load will be applied in the shackle’s plane.
Safe Use and Inspection
- Before each use, check that the selected shackle matches the application and that the pin is securely fitted.
- Do not replace the pin with an ordinary bolt, screw or metal rod.
- Apply the load along the shackle’s centre line. Avoid side loading, eccentric loading, bending and shock loading.
- Keep the pin free to rotate in its bearing hole; do not use a shackle if the pin binds.
- For two-leg connections, keep the included sling-leg angle within 120°, as stated in the supplied instructions.
- Inspect regularly according to use frequency and operating conditions, and keep inspection records.
- Remove the shackle from service if cracks, significant corrosion, deformation, a bent pin, binding, or excessive wear is found.
